Reiki · definition
A Japanese energy-based complementary practice in which a practitioner places hands lightly on or just above the body, often with the intention of supporting relaxation or wellbeing.
How the term is used
Modern Reiki traces to Mikao Usui in early twentieth-century Japan and is practiced in several lineages and styles.
Why it matters
It is the central term for Alee's Reiki service and should have one of the strongest glossary entries in this category.
Where this fits in a practice
The guides explain the idea in context; the service pathways are there when reading is not enough. Educational content only — nothing here is medical or mental-health care.
